Winifred M. (Clarke) Bossman

Morrisville, PA

Winifred M. Bossman, age 90 of Morrisville, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 7, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her family.  Born in Newark, NJ, Mrs. Bossman lived in Morrisville for the past 63 years.

Prior to her retirement in 2002, Winifred was employed at US Steel for 28 years in personnel as a benefits manager.  Her passion was in education and she was a teacher for several local schools.   An environmental advocate, Mrs. Bossman was a member of the Sierra Club, The National Resources Defense Council, a founding member of Rails to Trails, a member of the Visiting Nurse Association a member of the Train Collectors Association and a former Girl Scout leader. Winifred was an avid reader and a passionate fan of Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Phillies and Villanova Basketball.

Daughter of the late Frederick and Mary (Amlicke) Clarke, and wife of the late John D. Bossman, she is survived by her daughter Danielle and son-in-law Don Wirth of Woodward, IA and her daughter Stephanie Bossman of Morrisville, her son John W. Bossman of Fairless Hills and her son Michael C.  Bossman and daughter-in-law June Bossman of Yardley, her four grandchildren Max Wirth, Michael Bossman, Samantha Bilancione and Matthew Bossman, a great grandson Kaiden Diehl and many beloved nieces and nephews.

“Mom was known to be a great listener, sought after for advice and wisdom and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was always a lady and fashionista.  She was the biggest fan for all of her grandchildren at all of their games.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions, in Mrs. Bossman’s name, be made to the Women, Food and Agriculture Netwark (www.wfan.org) or to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
