Raul “Reno” Costas, age 73 of Morrisville, PA, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2020 at Abington Memorial Hospital, Abington, PA. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Reno was raised in Jersey City, NJ, moved to Grand Prairie, TX, and then to Morrisville 39 years ago.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as the Director of Maintenance for the U.S. Post Office on Byberry Road in Philadelphia. As a teenager, he was a member of the Catholic Social Club at The El Centro in Jersey City. A proud Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Reno enjoyed repairing cars and rebuilding motorcycles. He was very handy and took pride in doing home repairs. He also loved to golf and sky dive.
Son of the late Antonio Costas and Epifania (Galarza) Rivera, he is survived by his loving wife Elisa (Gonsalves) Costas, a son and daughter-in-law Raul, Jr. and Michelle Costas of Levittown, a daughter Natalie Russomanno of Morrisville, three brothers and two sisters-in-law Radames and Tracy Rivera, Ruben and Millie Costas, and David Costas, six sisters and three sisters-in-law, Mildred and Raymond Robinson, Daly and Jorge Pererra, Linda Kildare, Jenny Woodling, Julie and Sam DelPozzo and Sandra Costas, four grandchildren, Brian Stype, Michael Swinehart, and Dean and Erick Russomanno, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his drive-by viewing on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, from 12-1 PM at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA. Please enter from the rear entrance off of Maple Avenue.
His funeral service will begin at 1 PM in the parking lot. DO NOT EXIT YOUR VEHICLES. Stay in your cars and roll down the windows.
His interment will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
