Joseph A. Ketaner, age 85 of Egg Harbor City, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021 at Somers Place in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Born in Trenton, NJ, Mr. Ketaner lived in Egg Harbor for the past 44 years.
Mr. Ketaner was a graduate of Morrisville High School, Class of 1954, and proudly served in the U.S. Army for 3 years and the U.S. Air Force for 4 years. He was a graduate of Shepard University in Sheperdstown, WV, which he achieved at around age 40. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a computer scientist for both the F.A.A. and Computer Science Corporation for 52 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed participating in events at the Cologne Senior Center. Joseph was fond of painting, playing Bingo and Sudoku and solving math problems for fun.
Son of the late Joseph J. and Martha (Stout) Ketaner and father of the late Susan Joan Ketaner, he is survived by his loving wife June (Feiler) Ketaner, three daughters and sons-in-law Debra and Rev. William Adams of Bolton, Ontario, Canada, Terri and Reginald Williams of Egg Harbor City, NJ, and Kathleen and Mark Turner of Tylersport, PA, two brothers and a sister-in-law Joseph and Sharon Ketaner of Houston, TX and Patrick Ketaner of Egg Harbor City, NJ, a sister Joan M. Ketaner of Yardley, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 AM on Friday, Sept. 10, 2021 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA. His interment will be private.
Friends may call Friday morning from 10-11 AM at the funeral chapel.
