Evelyn Ann (Greenlee) Matthews

Evelyn Ann Matthews, age 86 of Levittown, PA passed away peacefully at Jefferson Bucks Hospital on Thursday, July 21, 2022.

Born in Trenton, NJ, she was raised on the property of Snipes Farm with her family until they moved to the town of Emily (which later became Levittown).  Once married, she raised her family in the Lakeside section of Levittown, PA.  When her children left the roost, her husband Dave built their own home in Chesterfield, NJ.  Later they retired to Forked River, NJ where they continued their love of sailing and boating.

Evelyn worked in multiple positions at Helene Fuld Hospital during her 25+ years earning an Employee of the Year Award, but her favorite job was to take care of her growing family.  Evelyn enjoyed cooking big meals, attending her grandchildren’s events, and taking trips.  She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, loving mother/grandmother, and a dear friend. She was totally devoted to her family, was kind and thoughtful, and will be truly missed by all who knew her. Evelyn was a member of the Bordentown Yacht Club and the Lacey Elks Lodge.

Daughter of the late John and Alice (Roberts) Greenlee; sister of the late Leroy Greenlee; and wife of almost 65 years to the late beloved David T. Matthews Sr.  Dave was the love of her life since she was 16 years old and she missed him terribly since his passing in 2019. Evelyn is survived by her children, David  Matthews Jr. (Diane) of Morrisville, PA, Melody Jacko (Edward) of Levittown, PA, and Mark Matthews (Eleanor) of Yardley, PA; her siblings; Lorraine Beyer (William) of Parish, FL, David Greenlee (Betty) of Yardley, PA, and Jack Greenlee (Karen) of Levittown, PA; her seven treasured grandchildren, Grant Matthews, Dean Matthews, Devon Matthews (Jackie), Jason Jacko (Melissa), Justin Jacko (Shelby), Luke Matthews and Alyssa Matthews; as well as her nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial luncheon at 12:30 on Wednesday, August 3 ^rd at Bella Tori at the Mansion, 321 S. Bellevue Ave, Langhorne, PA  19047.
