Cynthia K. (Koch) Purvins

October 9, 1942 — September 25, 2021

Doylestown, PA

Cynthia (Cyn) Purvins departed this life peacefully on September 25, 2021.  She was surrounded byher loving family who will cherish and love her forever.

Cyn was born to the late Kenneth and Anna Koch in Reading, Pennsylvania.  Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by Ronald Patterson and Patt and Natalie Patterson.  Cyn was a resident of Doylestown, Pennsylvania most of her life.  With friends and family, she traveled the world, shared many wonderful adventures and enjoyed her time at the Jersey shore.

Cyn was a dedicated elementary teacher for over 30 years and after retirement she was more active and creative that ever.  She was dedicated and passionate about everything she did.  She spent many of her retired days carving and painting 3-dimensional wood carvings and eventually creating numerous beautiful oil paintings.  Not just a runner, she won many races in her class, not to mention completing the NYC Marathon; not only a wood carver, but a Juried Woodworker: not only a painter, but an award-winning master.  She saw beauty, light and love in all of nature; she had a great sense of humor and passionately loved her dear family and friends.  She brought joy and laughter to everyone around her.

While she stayed active throughout her life, in the past several years she battled and survived breast cancer, and then courageously battled pancreatic cancer for almost 3 years.

She leaves behind a loving family, Roxanne Patterson, Roger Patterson, Barbara Knoll, Joe and Sue Knoll, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Services and burial will be held privately with the immediate family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bucks County SPCA (www.buckscountyspca.org) or to the National Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (www.pancan.org).
