Cornelia H. “Connie” Henskens, age 91 of Bensalem, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021 at Juniper Village in Bensalem.

Born in Amsterdam, Holland, Connie and her family endured the occupation during World War II before moving to America. She would often recount that experience in conversation and interviews, to include for her grandchildren’s school projects. Connie met her future husband, Casey, in Holland and they later got married in the United States. They raised their family in Sussex County, NJ prior to relocating to Pennsylvania. She was a longtime Morrisville resident before moving to Bensalem 17 years ago.

Mrs. Henskens graduated from the School of Nursing in Culenborg, Utrecht, Holland with her degree in nursing, and worked as a registered nurse at Trenton Psychiatric Hospital for many years.  She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir.  Connie was a Past President of the Juniper Village Resident Association, where she also served on the Food and Social Committees.  She was a member of the Red Hatter Club and volunteered many hours as a reading mentor with the Morrisville School District.  Her favorite holiday was Halloween and she always enjoyed dressing in costume. Among her various interests were a love of cooking, crafting, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Daughter of the late Cornelius and Henrietta (Rozenstraten) Clabbers, wife of the late Cornelis A. Henskens, mother of the late Thomas A. Henskens and sister of the late Rein Clabbers, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Betty Ann and Craig Hadden of Wayne, PA; four sons and five daughters-in-law, Robert A and Jeanne Henskens of Wilmot, NH; Paul B. and Monika Henskens of Mason, OH; James J. and Eileen Henskens of Atco, NJ; John P. and Michelle Henskens of Folsom, CA and Kristan Hoffman; a brother and two sisters-in-law Gerard and Ann Clabbers of Warminster, PA and Terri Clabbers of Warminster, PA; 16 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her Memorial Mass on Friday, Oct. 29, 2021 at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 201 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Morrisville, PA.  Her interment will follow at Newtown Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at 1:00 at Middletown Country Club.
