Ann Christine (Lesser) Davenport

Ann Christine Lesser Davenport, 91 of Yardley, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2023 at The Birches with her daughter Susan Annenberg by her side. Ann was born on August 3, 1931 in Ridgway, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Clyde Lesser and Mabel Anderson. On June 23, 1956, she married George L. Davenport, who preceded her in death on October 17, 2020. Her brothers Fred (Marty), Ray (MaryAnn) and Gerald (Nancy)Lesser preceded her in death.

After graduating from Thiel College, she embarked on a teaching career in Ford City teaching English. She later taught 8th grade English at the Morrisville High School, retiring after 35 years. For 25 years, Ann was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma International.

Music was an important part of Anns’ life, she was a pianist who performed with The Cleveland Orchestra and shared her gift of music. Ann enjoyed playing golf, winning many tournaments. She also was an avid bridge player and joined friends from Morrisville High School and The Lower Makefield Senior Center. Ann practiced Forest Bathing to connect with nature and notice the beauty of God’s creation. Her Christian faith was a cornerstone of Anns’ life and she served as a member of The Morrisville Presbyterian Church for more than 52 years. Ann was a kind, gentle and giving woman who touch many people and filled our hearts with love.

Ann is survived by her two daughters, Alison D’Ascendis (Bernie D’Ascendis) of Bensalem and Susan D. Annenberg (late Steven Annenberg) John Oetting (partner) of New Hope; her one grandson and joy of her life, Louis C. Annenberg of Salt Lake City, Carli Romanchuk (beloved girlfriend).

Funeral Services for Ann will be held at The Morrisville Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson Memorial Chapel, at 2:00pm. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00-2:00pm in the church lounge. Interment at the Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton, NJ will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family is grateful for donations to The First Presbyterian Church of Morrisville at 771 N. Pennsylvania Avenue., Morrisville, PA 19067.
