Walter James Morey

Walter James Morey, a proud veteran of the United States Army and a cherished figure in his community, passed away on June 12, 2025, at the age of 86 in Langhorne, PA. Born on December 24, 1938, in Harrisburg, PA, Walter led a life rich in service, devotion, and the quiet joys of family and hobbies.

For 30 years, Walter dedicated himself to his role as a jet engine assembler with Heintz Corporation in Philadelphia. His steadfast commitment to his work was matched only by his later service as a security guard at Nazareth Hospital, where he ensured the safety and care of those in need. Walter’s industrious spirit was paralleled by his academic foundation, having graduated from West Catholic High School in Philadelphia, a testament to his commitment to personal and professional growth.

Walter called Levittown home for 30 years before relocating to Newtown in 2007, where he continued to engage with his community as a devoted parishioner of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church. His involvement extended to the Knights of Columbus Council # 4215 in Levittown, where he embraced the values of brotherhood and service.

A man of many interests, Walter cherished the simple pleasures of life. He found joy in the meticulous art of paint by numbers and was an enthusiastic exerciser, often declaring, “I did 10 miles today” after pedaling on his stationary bike. He relished moments spent at the beach, and he loved scuba diving with his beloved wife, Brenda Kay Rhodes Morey. But above all, his heart swelled with pride and love for his granddaughters, Alexandria Quinlan and her husband Colin Rogers, and Meghan Quinlan. They were the radiant lights of his life, and he adored every opportunity to spend time with them.

Walter’s legacy is enriched by the memories he created and shared with his family, which includes his beloved wife, Brenda, and their grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Julius Morey and Elizabeth Gallagher Morey, and his brother, William James Morey, who will surely welcome him on this final journey.

As family and friends gather to honor Walter, a graveside service will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road in Newtown on June 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., where we will reflect on the life of a remarkable man whose kindness, strength, and love have left an indelible mark on all who knew him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, a shining example of a life well-lived.
