Virginia "Ginny" G. (Martin) Fiorentine

February 11, 1952 — December 27, 2018

Ginny Fiorentine, age 66, of Levittown, PA, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA.  Born in Trenton, Ginny was a lifelong resident of the Levittown area.

Ginny’s life journey started as a child who was born deaf, living and growing in a hearing world. She learned how to overcome this disability by reading lips and miraculously gained her hearing later in childhood. In hindsight, Ginny was not meant to be deaf her whole life, but her start in the world was to teach her a lesson in perseverance and strength that she would rely upon the rest of her life fighting through hardships and subsequent disabilities. Though her body was not strong most of her life, she was a pillar that many turned to for strength and support acting as a role model and advocate to anyone that sought her help.

Ginny had many different careers during her life, but most notably was her work in the non-profit industry helping others where she served as the Executive Director of the Center for Independent Living in Langhorne.  She spent many years early in her life working in the banking industry across branch manager roles at CoreStates and Sovereign Bank.  Mrs. Fiorentine also worked for the family typography business when her children were young. She was a member of the Fairless Hills United Methodist Church.  She also served as Lay Minister at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Trenton, and taught Sunday School and was a youth group pastor at Pearson United Methodist Church.  Ginny was a member of the Levittown/Fairless Hills Rotary Club and the Lower Bucks Chamber of Commerce. Ginny was very active in drug and alcohol prevention, and practiced Reiki, yoga, and holistic medicine.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Daughter of the late Alfred and Elizabeth (Ryman) Martin, and sister of the late Gary Martin, she is survived by her loving husband Louis J. Fiorentine, four children, Michael J. Fiorentine and his partner Mary of Lakeland, FL, Michael and Catherine Gardy of Chester Springs, PA, Jonathan Fiorentine and his Fiancée Lucia of Levittown, and Lara and Matthew MacGorvin of Levittown, a brother and sister-in-law Richard and Kathleen Martin of Levittown, a sister Helen Martin of Fallsington, 9 grandchildren Natalie, Jessica, Joshua, Matthew, Kerissa, Gabriel, Rebecca, Lilly, and Jacob; 2 great grandchildren Leah and Aubrey, along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her life celebration at 11 AM on Monday, Dec. 31, 2018 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA.  The Rev. Wendy Bellis, Pastor of the Morrisville United Methodist Church, will officiate.

Friends may call Monday morning from 10-11 AM at the funeral chapel.
