Vera D. Trejo (skeggs)

Vera D. (Skeggs) Trejo, age 89, of Morrisville, PA, passed away peacefully into the lords hands on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Born in Hexton, England, she had been a resident of Morrisville for over 50 years. Prior to her retirement, she was proudly employed as a Senior Clerk, Receptionist, with the New Jersey State Police for 19 years and retiring at the age of 87. She also held several other positions in NJ State Government totaling 32 years. Among her varied interests, Vera enjoyed shopping (especially for shoes), history, and Turner Classic Movies, her favorite being "Zulu". She also enjoyed horseback riding. Vera was very proud of her English heritage and her family's long military history, and will always be remembered for her tenacity and courage she showed in spite of her illness in the last 2 years of her life. Daughter of the late Alfred and Elizabeth Jane (Hemmings) Skeggs, and wife of the late Joe Trejo Sr, she is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Carmina and Gary Sheinfeld of Canton, GA and Anita Trejo of Morrisville, PA, a son and daughter-in-law Joseph and Bozena Trejo Jr of Morrisville, her sister Eileen Marlow of Buntingford, England, five grandchildren Rachael, Jordan and Kyle Sheinfeld and Adam and Lindsay Trejo, a great grandson Luke Suggs, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 11 AM on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017 at the Hutchinson Memorial Chapel of the Morrisville Presbyterian Church, 771 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Morrisville, PA. The Rev. Jack McNalis will officiate. Her interment will be held privately, at the convenience of the family, at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA. Friends may call Saturday from 10-11 AM in the church lounge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Trejo's name, may be sent to St. Jude's Hospital for Children, www.stjude.org/Donate. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, Morrisville, PA.
