Theresa Marian Beaumont, of Yardley, Pennsylvania, died peacefully at her home on September 10, 2026. She was 72.
Known as Terry to her friends, Treesers to her family, and Aunt Toad to her niece and nephew. She answered to all of them—or at least most of the time. Terry was, in every sense, one of a kind.
A fashion designer and pattern maker by profession, she was also an exceptional knitter, painter, sculptor, gardener, and general maker of beautiful and interesting things. If she could imagine it, there was a good chance she could figure out how to make it. Theresa had a wonderfully individual way of moving through the world, with her own sense of humor, her own style, and very little interest in being anyone other than herself.
She received her BA degree from the University of Puget Sound and later continued her education in Fine Arts at Philadelphia University, continually pursuing the creative talents that would remain central throughout her life.
Theresa is survived by her sister, Janet Burke; her niece, Sarah Burke; and her nephew, Rick Minogue. She was preceded in death by her father, James Beaumont, her mother, Marie Doran Beaumont, and her sister, Mary Jo Glass.
Theresa will be deeply missed. There will never be another Aunt Toad, Treesers, or Tutu, and the world will be a little less colorful without her in it.
Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kitty Cottage, www.kittycottage.org, in honor of her lifelong love of animals.
