Teresa Ann Mathis

Teresa Ann Mathis, affectionately known as Tess, was born on August 27, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois. She left this world on March 9, 2025, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, after a courageous journey through life's challenges.

Tess was a vibrant and spunky individual, her love for life was evident in all of her pursuits, from her career in waitressing to her cherished moments spent with loved ones. Her interests were as diverse as they were enriching; she enjoyed checking out any Harley motorcycle, listening to music, and having good times at parties. Creativity flowed through her as she spent her free time crocheting, exploring arts and crafts, and painting. Tess found joy in the simplicity of life, whether it was going to the beach, sightseeing, or enjoying the company of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Madonna; her brother, Jack; and her son, Joseph, who passed in 2016. She is survived by her children; John, Rachel, and Chelsea; her siblings, Rudy, Ginger, Gary, Thomas, and Paul; her grandchildren, Jaxen, Autumn, and Penny; along with her beloved fur-baby, also named Penny, held a special place in her heart. Though she faced struggles throughout her life, the memories shared with Tess will forever be cherished.
