Sylvia Petrik-Schneider, a beloved member of her community and cherished soul, passed away on July 23, 2025, in Philadelphia, PA, at the age of 68. Born on September 6, 1956, in Trenton, NJ, Sylvia spent her life as a devoted resident of Morrisville, PA, where she created a tapestry of memories that will forever resonate with her family and friends.
Sylvia was the daughter of Julius and Elizabeth Hillman Petrik, who predeceased her, and their love and guidance shaped the wonderful person she became. She is survived by her loving husband, Marvin E.J. Schneider, whose companionship and support were an integral part of her life. Her warmth extended to her sisters, Barbara Myers of Punta Gorda, FL, and Lorraine Van Cleve of East Earl, PA, both of whom will carry the cherished moments they shared in their hearts forever.
An aunt to many, Sylvia was a beloved figure to her nieces Amy and Brian Hall and Dana and Wes Foreaker, as well as her nephew David and Penny Neuman. She took immense joy in her role as an aunt, and her heart was filled with love for her grand nephews—Carter and Logan Hall, and David Newman Jr.—along with her grand nieces, Alyssa Neuman and Madison Foreaker. The laughter and love of family gatherings will forever echo in their memories.
Sylvia had an adventurous spirit and a profound love for travel. She relished exploring the beautiful islands of Hawaii, basking in the sun-kissed shores of Bermuda, St. Thomas, and St. John, and savoring the picturesque landscapes of Long Beach Island, NJ, and Ocean City, NJ, and Maryland. Her journeys also took her to the charming streets of France and Italy, where she created memories that she would recount with enthusiasm, her eyes lighting up with every tale.
A true beach lover, Sylvia found solace and joy in the gentle lullaby of ocean waves, embracing the serenity that only the sea could provide. Her passion for reading was matched only by her enjoyment of board games, where family and friends gathered around tables, creating bonds over laughter and friendly competition.
In recognition of Sylvia’s life, visitation services will be held on August 4, 2025, at J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services, 41 W. Trenton Ave. in Morrisville, PA, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM until 11:30 AM. She will be laid to rest at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yardley, PA, in a service beginning at 11:45 AM.
Sylvia Petrik-Schneider's vibrant spirit, her unwavering love for family, and her passion for exploring the beauty of the world around her will be sorely missed. Her legacy of love and adventure will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
