Susan (Zacher) Krushenski, 70, of Morrisville, Pa., passed away Friday, August 29, 2025, at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, after facing many health challenges over the last few years.
Susan was a force to be reckoned with who dedicated her time to spending time loving and nurturing her family and volunteering wherever there was a need. Her strength, spunk, and caring nature were hallmarks of her personality, making her a beloved figure in the lives of those who knew her.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts (Cum Laude) in Fine Arts from Rider College, NJ, in 1976, where she was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority and a Life Member of the Rider College Alumni Association. Susan had a deep appreciation for the arts and was especially fond of Monet and Van Gogh and even Escher; often finding joy in the beauty and passion of their works as she engaged in her own arts and crafts.
Her love of painting can be seen throughout the family home, where the art on the walls holds her name. She shared that passion of art and culture with her Girl Scout troops over twelve years, and instilled the scouts of Troop 665, the motto of “No Fear”; which is particularly poignant, as that motto was a source of strength in the twilight of her life.
It was her enthusiasm for life that allowed her to be both a teacher and a student, eager to learn and share what she knew. She also used all her finely honed artistic skills as a Graphics Designer for Bry-Mar Trophy, Inc., for over two decades.
Her love for flamingos was unmistakable and became a delightful part of her identity, both inside and outside of her home. She not only loved the beauty of the animal, but also of their symbolism: love, strength and beauty. Her passion for Disney, mostly the Villains, can also be seen around her home. She could be heard from time to time singing different songs from Disney movies.
Some of Susan's favorite pastimes included spending time at the Morrisville Senior Center where she served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for many years, ran numerous fundraising events and made many lifelong friends. She also loved creating exciting memories with family and friends from miscellaneous arts & crafts and especially watching Christmas movies on Hallmark. She found happiness, love, hope, and strength while watching those movies. Susan always had a smile that would light up any room she walked into and a heart that you could feel love from a mile away.
Susan was predeceased by her parents, Rita and Irving Zacher of York, Pa., along with her beloved fur babies, Lucy and Buffy, (both dogs), as well as Duncan, (cat). Susan shared her life with her loving husband and best friend, Edward Krushenski, for nearly 50 years - a testament to their enduring love and partnership. She was the proud mother of Samantha Krushenski of Bensalem, PA, and Andrew Brake of Vineland, NJ, who each brought her immense joy. She and Samantha shared everything, and friends and family knew how much they meant to one another. Susan and Andrew shared many talks, some for hours, dabbling in every subject they shared a passion for. She also leaves behind her niece, Robyn Brake, Jersey Shore, PA. They shared a bond that only they know the strength of.
Susan also leaves behind her quirky, eccentric and amazing sister, Dr. Carol Rinkoff, Fredericksburg, MD. The times shared by the sisters over the years were revisited many times through stories (including the two of them playing tricks on their mother), photos and countless inside jokes. She is leaving behind her "sister from another mister," Susan Parrey, Morrisville, PA and many, many people that she touched in some way.
Susan will forever be remembered for her passion for helping others, her strong and fighting spirit, her devout and unwavering dedication to her family, her many creative pursuits, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness and love. Her memory will continue to live in the hearts of her family and friends. To the many lives saved because of her, thank you for letting her help. That is what drove her: helping anyone who asked, or simply needed it.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the J. Allen Hooper, Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave. Morrisville, PA 19067. A celebration of life will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Susan will be laid to rest at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd., Newtown, PA, following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Susan’s memory to the organizations below, or to a charity of your choice. She always believed that if she could change even one person’s life, she had fulfilled her purpose.
