Susan M. Mcconnell (mckinney)

Susan M. (McKinney) McConnell, age 89 of Yardley, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at her home in Sunrise Assisted Living. Born in Ithaca, NY, Mrs. McConnell lived in Mansfield, PA for 25 years before moving to Yardley 2 years ago.Susan was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Mansfield. She was also a member of PEO, an organization providing scholarships for young women's educational needs. She attended Cornell University, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. Mrs. McConnell was a former volunteer with the Red Cross, and served as a nurses aid during WWII.Daughter of the late James and Louise (Bontecou) McKinney, and mother of the late Louise Milota, she is survived by her loving husband Joseph A. McConnell, a son and daughter in law James A. and Darcy McConnell of Seattle, WA, two daughters and sons in law, Judith and Robert Ore of Woodstock, NY and Elisabeth and David Roth of Morrisville, PA, 8 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Mansfield, PA.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. James Episcopal Church, 18 St James St, Mansfield, PA 16933 .
