Stephen Alexander Wallin, a beloved community figure and prominent leader in the field of beauty culture, passed away on June 14, 2025, in Abington, Pennsylvania. He was born on January 8, 1953, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was a lifelong resident of Upper Southampton Township, where his impact will be felt for generations to come.
For close to fifty years, Stephen served as the President and CEO of the Bucks County School of Beauty Culture in Feasterville, where he dedicated his life to educating future professionals in the beauty industry. His commitment to education extended beyond his career; he was a proud graduate of William Tennent High School and earned his Bachelor of Science with distinction in Education Administration from Cambridge International University.
Stephen was not only known for his professional achievements; he was also an active political figure in Upper Southampton Township. He served as an Auditor and a member of the Board of Supervisors, contributing to the local government with dedication and care. Stephen was a member of the Upper Southampton Township Municipal Authority and the Pennsylvania State Cosmetology Board, and he actively participated in organizations such as PSATS and BCATO. His leadership was also evident when he served on the Board of the Pennsylvania Private School Administrators and as a former President of the Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce. A staunch Republican, he was an active member of the Upper Southampton Republican Club and handled numerous campaigns, reflecting his deep-rooted commitment to his community.
In addition to his professional and civic duties, Stephen was a passionate individual outside of work. He loved spending time fishing and enjoyed educating others about firearms at the gun range. These interests reflect a man who embraced life with vigor and enthusiasm.
Stephen was a cherished family man, whose memory will live on through his wife, Gayle R. Kennedy Wallin, his son, Scott Wallin of Virginia Beach, VA, his daughter and son-in-law, Melissa K. "Missy" and Matthew Neamand of Doylestown, PA, and his son and daughter-in-law, Ryan A. and Megan Wallin of Feasterville, PA. He is also survived by his sisters, Gayle and Mark Edwards, and Wendy and Mark Showmaker, as well as his aunt, Carol Wallin. Stephen was a doting grandfather to Ava, Brandon, Clark, and Diana, and he leaves behind several nieces and nephews who admired and loved him dearly.
Stephen was predeceased by his parents, Alexander Wallin and Dorothy Juraky Wallin, whose legacy he honored throughout his life.
A memorial service to celebrate Stephen's life will be held on June 27, 2025, at Bucks County Community Church, 1249 W. Maple Ave. in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, starting at 11:00 AM, with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM.
His dedication to his community, commitment to his family, and passion for education will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. Stephen Wallin's life was one of service, love, and unwavering commitment, and he will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and the community he so richly served.
