Stephen B. Cesareo

October 11, 1940 — November 25, 2025

Long Beach Township, NJ

Stephen B. Cesareo, 85, of Long Beach Township departed this world on Tuesday November 25, 2025, in Pennington, NJ.

Stephen was born in Englewood, NJ, to the late Nora Cahalane and Euterpe P. Cesareo. He attended Englewood HS and attended Seton Hall University. He later went on to earn a MA in History from Montclair State College. Even though he seldom spoke of it, Stephen is an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army, and served in the 1960's. He spent his entire career working for the Social Security Administration, retiring in 1995 as a Regional Director.

Stephen was not just defined by his career; he found joy in family gatherings and the peacefulness of his shore house. He loved being there and was most content sitting on his porch listening to the ocean and breathing the salty air.

His fondness for the Art Deco era resonated deeply, especially during the years he shared with his beloved wife, Adele, whose memory remained strong in his heart. Their shared love for art and exploration often sent them wandering through galleries, lost in the beauty of it and each other. Stephen was a lifelong New York Mets fan and came to be a diehard Liverpool FC fan. He loved fishing (even if it was just sometimes casting!). One of his most proud accomplishments is being a founding member of Oasis #8, “The Flying Deuces” tent of the Sons of the Desert (international Laurel & Hardy fan club). It brought him pride and joy. He met lifelong friends in the club and spent many a night with them over 6 decades.

Stephen’s life was abundant with accomplishments, yet none brought him greater pride than his family. He always spoke fondly and proudly about his wife, children and grandchildren; they brought him immeasurable happiness.

He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 59 years, Adele Cesareo (2023); and his siblings, Elizabeth Pimental and Vincent Cesareo. He is survived by his son, Stephen Alan Cesareo, and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth; his daughters, Monica Dottino, and son-in-law, Nicholas; and Elizabeth Kearney and son-in-law Christopher; his sister, Penny; his 10 cherished grandchildren; Kiera Hlavaty, née Cesareo, Owen, Ian Cesareo, Christina, Nicholas, Julia , Anthony Dottino, Sarah, Connor and Emily Kearney; he also leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends Stephen has made throughout his life.
