Shirley L. Malmsbury, 91, of Yardley, died peacefully on Friday May 8, 2026, at Serenity Hospice at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Hamilton, New Jersey.
Shirley lived a life marked by dedication and compassion. She was born and raised in Morrisville to the late Emma and Norman Malmsbury. She was deeply devoted to God and shared this faith as a parishioner of Morrisville United Methodist Church for over 75 years, a testament to her enduring commitment to her community and spirituality. She was a proud graduate with honors of Drexel University, Shirley brought her intelligence and leadership to her professional life, rising to the position of Executive Vice President at the Morrisville Bank for many years and in senior level positions for Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and Meritor Financial Group until her retirement. This achievement was one of her proudest, illustrating her strength and determination. Reading was one of her great loves and favorite pastime, second only to time spent with family down the shore in LBI and Ocean City, New Jersey. At the beach each summer, she could be found settled in her chair getting lost in a good book or with her video camera in hand recording moments she never wanted her family to forget.
Shirley is predeceased by her sister, Patricia Clark and brother-in-law Lawrence Clark, brother-in-law W. Paul Somers, Jr. and her uncle, William D. Hall, Jr. . She is survived by her sisters, Carol Somers, and Claire Hoffman and her husband, Ronald; her beloved nieces; Debbie Somers and long time partner, Randy Sanchez, Beverly DeFelice and her husband, Gary, and Janice Ballantine; Cathy Price and husband, Richard, and Karen Mastervich and husband, David; and nephews Gregory Clark and wife Sandi, and Richard Hoffman and wife, Leann, along with all of her other extended family, great nieces and nephews, and dear friends she has made throughout her life. Shirley Malmsbury’s life was one of quiet strength, faith, and service. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
