Richard Francis Rossbauer, 97, of Bensalem, died Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Delaware Valley Veterans' Home in Philadelphia.
Richard was born in Philadelphia and raised in Bensalem, by the late Helen and Francis Rossbauer. Richard was a high school graduate and attended Drexel University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He was an honorably discharged Veteran of the United States Army and the United States Air Force, during the time of World War II. After Richard returned home, he worked as a mechanical engineer for many years at Fischer and Porter, in Hatboro, PA, and he was a dedicated volunteer for over 25 years at the Doylestown Hospital. During his life he participated in music, painting, ancestry, drawing, and golfing with his brothers. He enjoyed time with friends and family. He was a Phillies and Flyers fan, he also loved sailing and flying, and he was also very intrigued by new technology, especially in the computer world.
He is predeceased by his siblings, Kenneth, Elizabeth, and William. Richard is survived by his three daughters, Kathy Dellaporte (John Gabryelewicz), Barbara Carr (Patrick) and Gail Rossbsuer-Sutton; his two grandchildren, Kelsey Dellaporte (Aram Lund) and Jackson Sutton (Ana Sutton), along with an extended family of nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his second family, Barbara McMaster Rossbauer, and his stepdaughters, Maureen McMaster Isett and Teresa Smith. He will be dearly missed.
A celebration of life will be held on June 19th, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00p.m. in the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Avenue, Morrisville, PA 19067. Military honors will be rendered in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, in Newtown, for Richard, on Thursday, June 20th, at 2:30 PM.
