Richard L. Mutek, 76, of Morrisville passed away unexpectantly on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
Rich was born in Trenton, NJ to the late Pauline (Liska) and Russell Mutek, and was a lifelong resident of Morrisville. Rich graduated from Morrisville High School in 1968 and received his bachelor’s degree from Rider University in 1994. During the Vietnam War, Rich served our country as a Proud Seabee in the U.S. Navy. After his service, Rich went on to work for the State of New Jersey for over 35 years, first in the labor office and then in the accounting and treasury department, until his retirement in 2014. In his free time, he liked going around town and making friends with anyone who crossed his path, he could always put a smile on your face. He loved spending time with his granddaughters and watching his beloved Cardinals’ teams play during football and baseball seasons. Rich loved trains, sorting pennies, following the weather and supporting our brave firefighters. He also loved taking trips to Vermont with his family.
Rich is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Tara (Gorman) Mutek; his children, Rebecca Mutek and stepdaughter, Tanya Gordon and her husband, Paul Gordon; his granddaughters, Mackenzie Gordon & Finley Gordon; and his closest nephew, Tom McAllister and his wife, Christine McAllister.
