Richard M. Davis

Richard M. (Blackie) Davis, age 82, of Levittown, Falls Township, PA, died Monday, August 12, 2013 at Capital Health Medical Center in Hopewell, NJ. Born in Toledo, OH, he had lived in Levittown for 55 years.Prior to his retirement in 1993, he was employed as a foreman with American Standard in Trenton for over 30 years. Mr. Davis was a member of the Falls Township Senior Center, and was a former member of their Board of Directors. He enjoyed vacationing in Ocean City, NJ with his family. In his younger years he was an avid bowler. His life was devoted to his children, and especially his grandchildren. Mr. Davis proudly served in the U.S. Army.Son of the late Harry and Clara (King) Davis, Richard was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Dorothy Barton and his son Richard Davis II, he is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Joan Barton Davis, a daughter Deborah Davis of Hamilton, NJ, a son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey and Michelle Davis of Collegeville, PA, four grandchildren, Max Andrew Davis-Scholle, Tara Alyssa Davis-Scholle, Kathryn Joan Davis, Ethan Jeffrey Davis, and many nieces and nephews.Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Friday evening, August 16, 2013 at 7 PM at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA. (www.hooperfuneralchapel.com). The Rev. Deb Heffernan, of the First Presbyterian Church of Morrisville, will officiate. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Trenton, NJ, will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
