Raymond A. Sargent, Sr.

Morrisville, PA

Raymond A. Sargent, age 77 of Morrisville, PA passed away peacefully on Nov. 21, 2019 at his home.  Born in Lower Merion Township, PA, he lived in Collingdale, PA before moving to Morrisville in 1986.

Prior to his retirement, Raymond was employed as a communications technician for Bell Atlantic (A.T.&T.) for over 30 years.  A proud Air Force Veteran, he was a member of American Legion Post # 317, Yardley, PA.  He was also a member of Masonic Lodge # 340 F. & A.M. in Paoli, PA.  An avid Phillies fan, Mr. Sargent's greatest passion was collecting model trains, and was a member of the Train Collector's Association of America.

Son of the late Robert William and Pearl (Smith) Sargent and brother of the late Ralston Sargent, he is survived by his loving wife Helen C. (Lerro) Sargent, two sons and a daughter-in-law Andrew and Patricia Sargent of Morrisville, PA and Raymond A. Sargent, Jr. of Tullytown, PA, a brother and sister-in-law R. Thomas and Shirley Sargent of Harleysville, PA, and seven grandchildren, Kyle Raymond, Reese Allen, Carter Roman, Brendan Lerro, Callan Francis, Kathleen Marie and Declan William Sargent.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 12:30 PM on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2019 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA.  The Rev. David Tatgenhorst will officiate.  His interment will follow at 2 PM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.

Friends may call Wednesday evening, Dec. 11, 2019 from 7-9 PM and on Thursday morning from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM at the funeral chapel.
