Olivia Bridget Trotto passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on July 25, 2025, in Philadelphia. She was 25 years old, and her passing was both sudden and heartbreaking.
Born on January 20, 2000 and raised in Yardley, PA, Olivia’s innate sensitivity, thoughtfulness, depth, wonder, and love for others was apparent from a young age. Growing up, she loved having dance parties like no one was watching and holding fashion shows at home with her sister Sophie, making vlogs and practicing photography, taking annual weeklong Thanksgiving trips with extended family and crafting the most beautiful handmade cards and gifts as an expression of love.
Olivia graduated from Germantown Friends School in 2018, and she continued her education at Rice University, where she graduated in 2022 with a degree in Cognitive Sciences. While at Rice, she met her best friends MRTOE (Melissa, Ranferi, Toni, and Elizabeth). They have stayed incredibly close after graduating, FaceTiming each other every day and often multiple times a day.
Reinforced by her dedicated work as an Emergency Room Technician and driven by her dream to always make a difference in the world, Olivia was currently attending the Drexel University College of Medicine, preparing herself for a life of healing and compassion in the medical field.
Olivia loved family, friends, children, animals, travel, languages, music and art, and lived so much life in her 25 years. She saw the world as her playground, having already ventured to over 40 countries. Whether bungee jumping in New Zealand or studying Mandarin in Taiwan, her adventures not only enriched her understanding of different cultures but also brought joy into her life and to those she met. Simple connections meant the most to her.
Her love for the outdoors and animals was reflected in her fondness for long walks, finding peace and inspiration amidst nature both at home and wherever she traveled, selecting the family dog Penny, and recently adopting a special needs cat, Rigatoni the Tiger Trotto (aka Tony)
More than anything, Olivia will be missed for her beautiful heart. She loved her family and friends so deeply and had an exceptional ability to connect with children and brought joy to so many. She was a vibrant light in the lives of her family and friends, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who cherished her.
Olivia is survived by too many loved ones to count, who will forever hold her in their hearts. Her loving parents David Trotto and Jean Costello, her granny Barbara, her beloved sister Sophie and beloved brother Benjamin, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of Olivia's life will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the Meetinghouse at Germantown Friends School, 47 W. Coulter Street, Philadelphia, PA 19114
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Olivia's name be made to Philly PAWS where she adopted her beloved Tony, phillypaws.org/donate or to travel to a new place with an open heart and make a simple genuine connection.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, Morrisville, PA.
