Michael Citro

Michael Citro, age 88, of Levittown, Falls Township, PA, passed away on January 19, 2014 at Aria Bucks Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Mr. Citro was a Bucks County resident for the last 45 years. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a packer with Keystone Lighting. He was a former parishioner of St. Joseph the Worker Parish. Michael was a member of the Odd Fellows, as well as the Fallsington VFW. He was an avid sports fan, especially baseball, and enjoyed trips to the casino. Mr. Citro was a proud Army Veteran of WWII, serving in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He was a POW, and the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Medal, The European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, and the World War II Victory Medal. Son of the late Luciano and Josephine (Trotta) Citro, he is survived by his twin sister Ann Citro Tressider, and his brother and sister-in-law, Carmen and Margo Citro, all of Jacksonville, FL. Locally, he is survived by his niece Patricia (and husband) Glenn Miller of Morrisville. He will also be missed by 3 additional nieces, 2 nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 AM on Friday, Jan. 24, 2014 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA. (www.hooperfuneralchapel.com). The Rev. John Eckert, will officiate. Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA. Friends may call Friday morning from 10-11 AM at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Mr. Citro's name be made to the Delaware Valley Veteran's Home, 2701 Southampton Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19154.
