Marilyn R. (Ratcliffe) Ellis

Marilyn R. Ellis, age 86 , passed away peacefully after a very long battle with Alzheimers on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Neshaminy Manor Nursing Home, Warrington, PA.  She was born in Trenton, NJ to the late Harry and Loretta Ratcliffe.

Marilyn worked for more that 20 years as an administrative assistant at the Trentonian and was a member of the Morrisville Presbyteran Church for over 60 years.  She was an amazing cook, loved to entertain and enjoyed the beach and tennis.

Wife of the late John Van Ellis, Jr., mother of the late John Van Ellis III and grandmother of the late Becky Marseglia, she is survived by her daughter Diane Ellis-Marseglia, a granddaughter Katey Marseglia, five nephews Bill and Jack Mansman, John Opaleski and Bill G. and Harry Ratcliffe, and a niece Joy Opaleski-Ward.

Marilyn was a good friend and near aunt to many, including Norma, Barry, Myrna, Chuck, Jan, Fred, Becky, Marge, Brian, Bruce, Karen, Beth, Chuckie, Rick, Chris, Lisa and Amy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her graveside service at 11 AM on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Newtown Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Marilyn's name be made to the scholarship held memory of her granddaughter, Becky, The Middletown Community Foundation, P.O. Box 1128, Langhorne, PA  19047 or to the Morrisville Presbyterian Church, 771 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Morrisville, PA  19067.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, Morrisville, PA.
