Marie C. Stout (corrigan)

Marie C. (Corrigan) Stout, age 100, of Massapequa, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 9, 2017. Born in Trenton, NJ, she resided in Morrisville, PA with her family for 50 years. She moved to Massapequa, NY in 2008 to live with her daughter and family. Prior to her retirement at age 74, she was employed with the State of New Jersey Medical Board as a head clerk. Marie's joy was her family, and she was devoted to her Roman Catholic faith. She a was dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who was loved by friends and family for her kind, gentle spirit and Irish good humor. Marie was a gracious hostess, and her interests included cooking, sewing, gardening, and a good Manhattan cocktail. Daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Toomey) Corrigan, and wife of the late William F. Stout, Jr., she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law William III and JoAnne Stout of Morrisville, PA, a daughter and son-in-law Helen and Christopher Gavin of Massapequa, NY, a brother Thomas Corrigan of Hopewell, NJ, a brother-in-law Charles Sweeney of Barnegat, NJ, four grandchildren William J. Stout, Caragh Gavin Miller (Charles), Thomas W. Gavin III (Kristin) and Sean C. Gavin, four great grandchildren Charles A. Miller III, Liam Gavin, Emily Gavin, and Shane Gavin, and many beloved nieces and nephews.Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her funeral mass at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 201 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Morrisville, PA 19067. The Reverend John Eckert, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Trenton, NJ.Friends may call Tuesday evening from 7-9 PM, and on Wednesday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA. Mass cards or donations to Holy Trinity School, 201 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Morrisville, PA are requested in lieu of flowers.
