Louise R. Leip, 97, of Yardley, peacefully passed away on December 23, 2025, at Sunrise Assisted Living Facility, living a long and full life.
Louise was known for her outgoing and independent spirit. She dedicated many years to her career as an accountant, always meticulous and hardworking. But beyond her professional life, Louise had a passion for crafting delightful creations like crocheting and being a member of the Granny Dots. Her jellies, jams, and pickles were legendary among family and friends, and she loved to submit them for contest at the Middletown Grange Fair. Anyone who tasted her canning could attest to her talent! Her garden would wow anyone who saw it. There was so much more to Louise than accounting and canning. She found joy in numerous hobbies, including bowling, birdwatching, and golfing, where she proudly made her “hole in one.” She also loved boating and fishing at their home in LBI.
Her garden was a testament to her love for nature, thriving under her careful tending. Louise was also an animal lover, she grew up on a dairy farm. Breakfast outings were a happy time for Louise, especially when she met up with her girlfriends, Ruth and Sharon, and of course the rest of the “crew” at Millie's. As a proud and spirited woman, Louise remained remarkably active throughout her life, mowing her own lawn and did all of her own yard work until she was 96 ½ years old! She was truly an inspiration to all who knew her. Even as Louise transitioned to the nursing home her generosity shone through: she was able to sell her home to her lifelong neighbor’s ecstatic daughter, Danielle, who cherished the house since she was a little girl.
Louise was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Edward Hellings; along with her beloved husband, Walter, and her 9 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her niece and nephews, Jeff Pittenger and his wife, Debbie, her niece Joan and her husband, David Ezell, her nephew Robert Pittenger and his wife, Diane, along with numerous grand nieces, nephews, and cousins; best friend, Sharon Kimmel, and her lifelong friend, David Oakes, who were blessed to share so many memories with her.
