Loretta Wassum (matecki)

Loretta (Matecki) Wassum, age 58, of Fairless Hills, PA died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 at her residence. Born in Philadelphia, she was raised in Morrisville, PA before moving to Fairless Hills in 1984.Prior to her retirement, she was employed as the Housekeeping Manager at Pickering Manor in Newtown for about 20 years. A graduate of Conwell High School, Loretta coached track for St. Francis Cabrini Church and the YMCA in Levittown. Daughter of the late Matthew Matecki, Sr. and Marie Mitchell Matecki, and sister of the late Francis Matecki, she is survived by her longtime companion John Ross, Sr., a son and daughter in law Donald and Diane Wassum of Bensalem, PA, a daughter and son in law Kathryn and John Shannon of Levittown, a brother Matthew Matecki, Jr. of Fairless Hills, 2 sisters Veronica Tunstall of Alexandria, VA and Maureen Yeager of Scranton, PA, 6 grandchildren, Danielle, Rosetta, Kyle, Lauren, Elizabeth, and Jennifer, and several nieces and nephews.Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Monday, November 19, 2012 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA (www.hooperfuneralchapel.com). Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.Friends may call Monday from 3-4 PM at the funeral chapel.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in her memory be made to the Lupus Foundation, Philadelphia Tri-State Chapter, 500 Old York Road, Suite 110, Jenkintown, PA 19046.
