Llywellon Edwin “Valley / Lew” Mohr, 96, went to the Big Camporee in the sky on April 20, 2026. He was the son of the late Claude W. Mohr, Sr. and Bertha Mae (Burkstrasser) Mohr. Throughout his life he was known by several nicknames, including his family nickname Valley and his high‑school nickname Lew.

He was born in Upper Saucon Township, Pennsylvania, beneath the Bethlehem Star atop Lehigh Mountain. Lew lived most of his life in the Morrisville, PA area. He was the beloved husband of the late Isabelle C. (Gillies) Mohr, with whom he shared more than 55 years of marriage.

Preceded in death by his wife Isabelle, Lew was the loving father of two children, Duane Llywellon Mohr and Debra Kay (Mohr) Pigott.

Duane and his wife Lynda blessed Lew with two grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn and Lindsey leigh, and two great‑grandchildren, Lyra and Emmett, through Lindsey and her husband Eric Webster.

Debra and the late Kermit Pigott blessed Lew with four grandchildren—Zachary, Daniel, Kara, and Alyssa—and he was further blessed with great‑grandchildren through each of them. Zachary and his wife Bonnie are the parents of James, Rhett, and Paige. Daniel and his wife Madison are the parents of Sawyer and Emery. Kara and her husband Anthony Del Gaudio are the parents of Cole and Carter. Alyssa and her husband David Decker are the parents of Maxwell, Myla, Mikayla, Millie, and the late Matthew.

Lew was a proud graduate of Pennsbury High School, the first graduating class of the Pennsbury School System, where he served as the first Student Council President. He graduated on June 13, 1949, enlisted in the United States Air Force on June 16, and left home on June 20. After 28 months of active duty at the Erding Air Depot in Germany during the Korean Conflict, he returned to the Morrisville area in 1952 for discharge, completing 40 months of service.

Lew retired from Bell Atlantic (formerly New Jersey Bell Telephone Company, now Verizon) after 38 years, serving as an Assistant Manager. He was Secretary of the Telecom Pioneers of the Trenton/Burlington Life Member Club for many years and received the Pioneer of the Year Award in 2001.

A devoted member of the Morrisville Presbyterian Church for more than 65 years, Lew served as a Deacon for 15 years and an Elder for 6 years. He was also a Mason with the Fairless Hills‑Levittown Lodge (now Newtown Lodge #427 F.&A.M.) and a life member of American Legion Post #0834.

Lew dedicated more than sixty years to the Boy Scouts of America, beginning as Scoutmaster in 1954 with Troops 3 and 46 of Morrisville. He served for many years with the Playwicki District and Bucks County Council (now Washington Crossing Council). His numerous Scouting honors include the Silver Beaver, Wood Badge, Scoutmaster’s Key, Scouter’s Key, Bucks County Council Outstanding Service Award, Luther Lord Award, James E. West Fellow Award, Commissioner’s Arrowhead, District Scouter Award, Vigil Honor Order of the Arrow, Masonic Daniel Carter Beard Award, Legion of Honor Award of the Chapel of the Four Chaplains, and many others. In 1991, the Bucks County Commissioners proclaimed November 1st as “Lew Mohr Day.” In 2012, Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick presented Lew with a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol in recognition of his decades of service to Scouting.

Lew received the Henry Clime Award in 2008, a Troop 230 Award, and numerous additional training and unit awards throughout his lifetime of service.
