Karen Celeste Greenlee, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025, in Langhorne, PA, at the age of 75. Born on November 26, 1949, in Vandergrift, PA, Karen was the cherished daughter of Hippolyte Venis and Theresia Beck Venis, who have preceded her in death.
Karen spent her formative years in Morrisville, PA, before moving on to the vibrant community of Bensalem, PA. Twenty years ago, she found her home in Levittown, PA, where she continued to create a warm and inviting space filled with love and laughter. A proud graduate of Villa Joseph Marie High School, Class of 1967, she later attended Bucks County Community College, laying the foundation for a life enriched by learning and curiosity.
Throughout her life, Karen embodied a spirit of compassion, especially when it came to animals, and she reveled in the company of her two beloved cats, Gigi and Tabitha. Her interests included a deep appreciation for the Amish culture and British Royalty, pursuits that reflected her love for learning about diverse ways of life. Music played a significant role in her heart; she found joy in the melodies of country music and the unforgettable songs of Elvis Presley. As a devoted collector of Elvis’s albums, CDs, and movies, she filled her home with the rhythm and sounds that brought her so much happiness.
Karen is survived by her loving husband of 51 yrstd, John R. "Moe" Greenlee, III, and their two daughters: Michelle Greenlee of Philadelphia and Lisa and Rik Valentine of Gloucester City, NJ. She was a proud grandmother to five beautiful grandchildren: Chloe, Isabella, Olivia, Erin, and Nathan, who brought her immense joy and pride. Additionally, she is survived by her brother, Robert Venis of Morrisville, PA, along with several nieces and nephews who treasured their time with her.
Her departure leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew her, and she will be remembered for her kindness, her enthusiasm for life, and her unwavering love for her family. A Funeral Service celebrating her remarkable life will be held at J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services, 41 W. Trenton Ave., in Morrisville, PA on August 20, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Washington Crossing National Cemetery at 11:30 AM
Friends may call on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, from 6-8 PM, and on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 from 9-10 AM, at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel.
