Joseph A. Mellodge Sr.

Joseph A. Mellodge, Sr., age 88, of Morrisville, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Aria Bucks Hospital, Falls Township, PA. Born in Morrisville, PA, he was a lifelong Morrisville resident. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Millodge was employed as a railroad engineer with Pennsylvania Railroad, NJ Transit, and Conrail for over 40 years. He was a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII. Joe was a member of the Italian American Sportsman's Club of Trenton, NJ, and the Italian American Social Club of Morrisville, PA. He loved playing blackjack, and was very talented in knife throwing. Mr. Mellodge was a devoted husband, loving father, and supportive uncle.Son of the late Joseph and Rose (Marrazzo) Mellodge, brother of the late Ann Vitellaro, and brother-in-law of the late Jennie Auletta, he is survived by his beloved wife Josephine (Mituri) Mellodge, a son and his longtime partner Joseph Mellodge, Jr. and Kathleen MacFadden of Morrisville, PA, 2 sisters Dolly (and Charles) Hofmann of Port St. Lucie, FL and Lillian (Querry) and Steve Folmer of Altoona, PA, a sister in law Anne Filipponi of Belmar, NJ, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass at 10 AM on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 201 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Morrisville, PA 19067. Friends may call Monday from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, River Rd., Yardley, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity R.C. Church at the address above.
