John A. Deithorn

John A. Deithorn, age 70, of Morrisville, PA, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Chandler Hall Hospice, Newtown, PA. Born in Elwood City, PA, John was a lifelong Morrisville resident. Mr. Deithorn attended Holy Trinity School, graduated from Bishop Egan High School in 1961, and earned his Associates Degree in Computer Science from Bucks County Community College. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a computer systems analyst with North American Phillips Lighting for 28 years. He also worked at Rohm & Haas, Optical Scanning, and The Bucks County Courthouse. John was a member of Fairless Hills Elks #2023, where he served as Exalted Ruler 3 times, as well as serving several years as an officer. He was an avid golfer, who especially enjoyed playing at Pinehurst in N. Carolina. Mr. Deithorn was also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Reserves, and a member of the Yardley American Legion Post #317. Son of the late Milton and Bina (Donnelly) Deithorn, he is survived by his loving wife Kathleen "Kathy" (McLaughlin) Deithorn, 2 children Jeannette Wallace of Trevose and John A. Deithorn, Jr. of Morrisville, 4 brothers Joseph of Florida, Milton of Bethel Park, PA, Hugh of Doylestown, and David of Hanover, PA, a grand daughter Jennifer Deithorn, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his funeral mass at 11 AM on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at St. John the Evangelist Church, Morrisville, PA. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne. Friends may call Thursday morning from 9:30-10:30 AM at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA, ( www.hooperfuneralchapel.com), where a service conducted by Elks Lodges #970 and # 2023 will be conducted at 10 AM.
