John Chanko, age 88, of Yardley, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018 at Arden Court, Lower Makefield Township. Born in Donora, PA, Mr. Chanko lived in Levittown, PA for over 50 years before moving to Yardley.
Prior to his retirement, John was employed as a steel worker with U.S. Steel for many years. He was a member of the Fairless Hills Elks as well as a life member of Elks Lodge # 1265 in Donora, PA. Mr. Chanko was a proud Navy Veteran, serving two tours of duty.
Son of the late Charles and Helen (Dankanich) Chanko, he is survived by his brother Paul Chanko of Donora, PA and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his graveside service with military honors on Monday, Feb. 12, 2018 at 9 AM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Ave., Newtown, PA.
