Jessica Thompson, born on June 27, 1985, in Newark, NJ, passed away suddenly on April 30, 2026. Jessica spent her formative years in North Brunswick, NJ, where she attended North Brunswick High School and, for the last four years, made Lancaster her home. Her warm presence and unique interests left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Jessica graduated from Rutgers University where she received a degree in criminal justice. She recently worked at Conestoga Wood Specialties as a Material Department Transfer person where her dedication and professionalism were evident to both colleagues and clients alike. She was a skilled fabricator, experienced in operating CNC machinery, utilizing hand tools for precision, chiseling and fine sanding of MDF and plywood panels, and performing quality control repairs on edge-banded doors. Her leadership in the workplace made a meaningful impact, and she was respected by all those she worked alongside.

Jessica's passions extended well beyond her career. She was most at peace in the outdoors, with a special fondness for the beach, where she found solace and joy, although she often seemed most at peace at home with a good book or a show she enjoyed. An avid enthusiast of internet video games, particularly Final Fantasy VII. Jessica also had a deep appreciation for ballet and the theater. Her love for the arts was only matched by the affection she had for her beloved cat, Muzzi, who was always a source of comfort and companionship.

Those closest to Jessica remember her distinct preferences that brought her happiness: blue was her favorite color, hamburgers her favorite food, and Old Bay her favorite spice. She often enjoyed relaxing moments with a cup of mint tea, indulging in life’s simple pleasures.

Jessica is survived by her devoted mother, Mildred Rangel. Her memory lives on through her brother, Julius Martinez, Jr.; her sister, Joyce Marascio; and her brother-in-law, Matthew Marascio, as well as her nephews, Raffy and Benny, and nieces, Bella and Mia. Jessica’s love and affection will forever remain in the heart of her best friend and partner, Jihad Bell. She is also survived by a host of aunts and uncles, whose support and love enriched Jessica’s life.

She was preceded in death by her father, Julius Martinez, Sr., and her grandmother, Taty Tacoronte, as well as her little sister Julie Martinez, who passed away before her first birthday.
