James L. Biemesderfer, 97, of Morrisville, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 under the compassionate care of Chandler Hall staff and hospice in Newtown.
Born in Lancaster, PA on April 20, 1921, he was a 52-year resident of Morrisville.
He proudly served his country in the US Army Air Corp from July 1942 to February 1946, teaching radio school in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Prior to his retirement as a credit analyst for the NJ Economic Development Authority in 2006, Jim was a credit analyst for New Jersey National Bank/Corestates from 1960-1985. He also taught several evening classes for the American Institute of Banking for many years.
Jim enjoyed numerous driving trips through the 48 contiguous states to visit friends, family and the national parks. He was an avid coin and stamp collector and had a passion for his ’61 Dodge Pioneer station wagon and ’68 Volkswagon Beetle.
Son of the late Stanley Q. and Kathryn (Leed) Biemesderfer and husband of the late C. Jane (Bruederly) Biemesderfer, he is survived by his son Thomas Biemesderfer of Lancaster; daughter Beverly Biemesderfer of Lancaster; daughter Charlotte and her husband George Duthie of Yardley; sister Mary Anne Mullany of Ridley Park; granddaughters Stephanie and Christine Duthie; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11 AM at the Morrisville United Methodist Church, 501 W. Maple Ave., Morrisville. Friends may call prior to the services from 10 – 11 AM at the church. His interment will be held at Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster, PA at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Morrisville United Methodist Church.
