Eva Andrea Hurskin, a radiant spirit and visionary artist, passed away on July 10, 2025, in Hamilton, NJ. Born on November 7, 1957, in Sydney, Australia, Eva dedicated her life to art, a passion that brought her immense joy. She showcased her work in prestigious fine arts galleries across Melbourne, Edinburgh, New York, and across the world, where her talent and creativity earned awards and deeply moved those who experienced her work.

Raised in in Melbourne, Australia, Eva spent most of her life surrounded by the beauty of nature and immersed in artistic exploration. Her deep love for the natural world and everyday beauty was vividly expressed through her detailed works on canvas. Her dedication to the arts extended to active memberships with the Rainforest Art Foundation, the Australian Wilderness Society, the American Portrait Society, and numerous other esteemed organizations.

Eva’s educational journey took her from Mount Scopus Memorial College to Monash University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts. This strong foundation allowed her to explore her artistic talents, leaving an indelible impact on those who encountered her creations.

An adventurous spirit and world traveler, Eva moved to the United States thirteen years ago to work from her studio in Atlanta, Georgia, later relocating closer to New York City. There, she continued creating her photorealistic oil paintings, graphite, charcoal, and colored pencil drawings, with consistent themes of wildlife, portraits, and urban and natural landscapes in both vibrant colors and monochrome.

She is survived by her loving family: her son Isaac M. Hurskin, currently on mission in Ukraine, her son and daughter-in-law, Xavier Dand Claire-Lise Hurskin, of Yardley, PA, and her three beloved grandchildren, Lawrence, Benjamin, and Maxwell, who carry forward her legacy of love, creativity, and adventure.

Eva was raised alongside her beloved brother, Frank Csanyi, by their parents, Frank Csanyi and Elizabeth Neszt Csanyi, who have since passed.
