Edward Francis Leddy III, age 86 of Yardley, PA passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at the Birches at Newtown. Born in the Bronx, Dr. Leddy lived in Wyoming and then Texas for several years before moving to Virginia Beach for 25 years. Recently he moved to Bucks County to be closer to his daughters and grandchildren.
Prior to his retirement, Dr. Leddy was employed as a college professor at St. Leo University in Virginia Beach for over 20 years. A proud Army Veteran, Edward was a member of the American Legion in Virginia Beach. He was a lifelong member of Mensa and was also a member of the NRA. He traveled the world, with his favorite country being France. An avid reader and author, he enjoyed jogging, rifle shooting, photography, and anything Disney related.
Son of the late Edward Jr. and Josephine Frances (Powers) Leddy, and brother of the late Marie Leddy Stettner, he is survived by two daughters, Deborah (John) Comings of Yardley and Erin Leddy-DeNicola of Garnet Valley, PA, a sister Eileen (Nick) Curran of Santa Barbara, CA, three grandchildren Michael Comings, Katie Leddy and Luke DeNicola, a nephew Ted Curran, and two nieces Nicole Eileen Caprio and Ondine Marie Stettner Crabtree.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 AM on Friday, June 23, 2023 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA 19067 .
His viewing will be held from 10-11 AM Friday at the funeral chapel.
His interment in Washington Crossing National Cemetery is scheduled for 2:30 PM on July 18, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions, in Edward’s name, be made to the Wounded Warrior Project ( www.woundedwarriorproject.org ) or to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinsons Research ( www.give.michaeljfox.org )
