She enjoyed baking, loved animals, and found great happiness in simple pleasures and treasured traditions. She was fond of visiting the casinos and especially loved vacationing in Cape Cod during the last two weeks of July each year, a tradition that brought her much joy and many warm memories of friends she met there.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Paul Konnyu; her father, William Lindenthal, Sr.; her mother, Viola Plantier Lindenthal; and her brothers, Donald Lindenthal and William “Sonny” Lindenthal.

Dorothy is survived by her sister-in-law, Arlene Lindenthal; her aunt, Theresa Plantier Roy; and her special cousin, Kathy McCullough. May their memories of Dorothy bring comfort in the days ahead and keep close the warmth, faith, and spirit she shared throughout her life.

A message from Arlene

Dot was not only my sister-in-law, she was a very good friend for 72 years when our husbands were still both alive. We took many trips together as well as a cruise. I remember Pete saying “why would I want to go on a cruise after spending four years on a ship in the Navy?”…that was until he found out they had casinos, shows, bars, and restaurants on cruise ships when we got back to Port he wanted to book another one.

Dot always took everything in stride and never got excited about anything at least outwardly, except to everyone surprise when we went to a Tom Jones concert, she LOUDLY yelled at the waiter who is taking drink orders, and to all of our table to “shut up!” so she could hear every word sung by Tom Jones, who knew it? Dot was always here when I needed her and although I’m thankful to God that she is no longer suffering and is at peace in heaven I will always miss her not only as a “sister”, but for the wonderful person she was.

A message from her niece Diane

To my beloved godmother, aunt Dot, the person who was like a mom to me.

I have so many wonderful memories of our time together over the past 71 years of my life.

A Saturday or a hot summer day that we went to island beach in New Jersey, you you worked on your suntan using baby oil, on me left me sunburnt. I was a child then and always wonder why you never went into the ocean decades later you tell me “Innever learned how to swim!”

One of my last conversations with uncle Pete, before his passing, he told me I was the daughter he and you never had. This was very touching to hear, and I will always treasure his words. You have now reunited with uncle Pete family members and friends that passed before you rest peacefully and I love you.
