Donald L. Swenson of Yardley PA passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025 at Holland Village Rehab at the age of 91 years.
Born June 27, 1934 in Lafayette, Indiana to Opal and Carl Swenson, he grew up in Speedway, Indiana and resided in Valparaiso, Indiana'; San Diego, CA; and Ellwood City, PA before moving to Yardley, PA in 1967.
Don was a graduate of Speedway High School and Butler University and retired from U.S. Steel as Manager, computer systems after 32 years of service. After his retirement, he worked for the State of New Jersey and the Trenton Times Newspaper. During this time, he founded Swenson Lawn Care which he worked for 29 years until he was 84.
Don jo8ned the Naval Reserve as a junior in high school, and retired as a commander in 1974 after 24 years of service. He served active duty with the amphibious forces stationed at Sand Diego, CA, on LST's (Landing Ship Tanks). One of the most notable tours was the A-Bomb tests on Eniwetok Atoll in 1958. He served in reserve units in Indianapolis, IN, Gary, IN Youngstown, OH, Trenton, NJ and Allentown, PA.
He was a member of the Morrisville United Methodist Church for the past 52 years and served on or chaired most committees of the church. He especially enjoyed doing repairs, landscaping and lawn maintenance at the church over many years. He truly enjoyed his church family. For many years he was a member of the Morrisville Burger King Breakfast Club. He made many friends there and enjoyed getting to know them and their families. Don enjoyed working, sports (primarily high school and college), landscaping and lawn care and was most proud of his entire family.
Don was predeceased by his parents, and his sister, Carolyn Sue, and her husband Robert Conway. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 70 years, Charlotte, son Jeffrey (Suzanne) of Holland, PA, and Daughter Teresa Swenson, at home. Grandchildren Patrick (Stephanie) Swenson, Stefanie (Steve) Barron, Kerianne (Michael) Stocklin, Joe (Kristen) Everly and Colleen Everly. Great Grandchildren: Wyatt and Cooper Barron, Salvatore and Luke Swenson, Hendrix Stocklin and Julia and Sophia Everly. Nieces: Lisa (Mike) Brown and Laura (Scott) Hickey and their families of Martinsville, IN.

Burial will be private in the Newtown Cemetery.
