Dale Ramseyer

Dale Ramseyer, age 92 of Yardley, PA, passed away peacefully at St. Mary Medical Center on April 22, 2021. Born on January 12, 1929, Dale was raised on a dairy farm in Elkton, Michigan. He graduated from Elkton High School and soon after joined the Merchant Marines. He sailed the world as an able-body seaman and was proud to serve our country while traveling the world.

After serving in the Merchant Marines he settled in Southern California. He went to work as an insurance agent for the Auto Club of Southern California. He realized there was a need for yacht insurance that was not being sold by AAA so he and his brother Richard started Ocean Marine Insurance specializing in insuring yachts. During his career, Mr. Ramseyer went to visit Mexico and ended up living there for several years. In Mexico he met his future wife.

Mr. Ramseyer was a person who loved the outdoors, his hobbies were gardening, fishing, and golfing. He was also avid reader and always had a novel close by. In his spare time he enjoyed watercolor painting and sports cars, especially corvettes and actually sold his Ferrari to Charlton Heston. Two years ago Dale and his wife of 30 years, Martha, moved to Yardley, PA to be close to his granddaughters.

Dale is predeceased by his parents, Allen E. and Hazel Ramseyer and his brothers Wendell F. Ramseyer, Dwayne V. Ramseyer, and Lowell M. Ramseyer. He is survived by his loving wife, Martha Villasuso Ramseyer of Yardley, PA; his cherished stepsons, Vincente (Andrew) Borrego of Costa Mesa, CA, Alejandro (Maira) Borrego of Morelos, Mexico, and Agustin (Lisa) Borrego of Langhorne, PA; his brother Richard Carlton Ramseyer (Carol) of Seal Beach, CA; many nieces and nephews from his beloved siblings; and his adored grandchildren, Alejandro, Isabella R. and Sofia E. Borrego.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 2 PM, the Rev. Wendy Bellis from Morrisville Methodist Church will officiate.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 from 1 to 2 PM at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave. Morrisville, PA 19067.
