Brandon Connelly

With broken hearts and deep gratitude for his life, we announce the passing of Brandon Connelly, who left us on June 23, 2026. Born on September 7, 1976, in Brooklyn, New York, Brandon’s life was one of service, intensity, and complexity.

He is survived by his sons, Trent J. Connelly and Dylan R. Connelly, who loved their father deeply. He is also survived by his sister, Michele Connelly, and his niece, Lauren Giorgiantonio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Connelly and Geraldine Rofrano Connelly.

His older sister Michele remembers a little boy who played with his G.I. Joe soldiers in the bathtub every night. He would make the sounds children make when they were deep in battle—the booms, the explosions—and then look up, suddenly shy, when he realized she was watching and laughing. That little boy would grow up to become a United States Marine.

Brandon enlisted straight out of high school, then built a life in New York City working as a personal trainer at Crunch Fitness, one of the city's most popular gyms. After the events of September 11, 2001, he re-enlisted without hesitation and deployed to Iraq, serving two tours of duty. His second deployment took him to Ramadi during Operation Iraqi Freedom, one of the bloodiest periods of the war.

He often spoke of his son Trent as the reason he could not take unnecessary risks overseas. Trent was the one he was holding onto. He came home, and Dylan was born into that same love.

He was a man who felt deeply and pursued his interests with conviction. History captivated him. He followed combat sports, was a devoted New York Rangers and Dallas Cowboys fan, loved alternative music, and could hold his own in any political conversation—and enjoyed every minute of it. He skied, traveled widely, and was always drawn to new experiences and new people. He loved to cook, appreciated good food, and those who knew him will remember his sharp wit, dry sarcasm, and remarkable ability to tell a story from nearly every chapter of his life.

Beneath his toughness was someone who cared deeply for the people and animals he loved. His sons remained the greatest source of pride in his life.

Brandon had a deep love for animals. He rescued his dogs, and they became far more than pets—they were his companions, his steady presence, and his family.

Though his life was marked by both triumphs and hardships, those who loved Brandon will remember his loyalty, his humor, his courage, and the unforgettable stories that only he could tell.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in Brandon’s memory to Sean Casey Animal Rescue, an organization that shared his devotion to animals in need.

A service to honor Brandon’s life and memory will be held on June 30, 2026, at 9:00 AM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, located at 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA. Marine Corps burial honors will be rendered during the graveside service. All who knew and loved him are welcome to gather, share memories, and find comfort in one another.
