Arthur E. Vossberg, III, beloved, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2024, at Holland Village, Holland, PA. Born on December 1, 1951, in Los Angeles, CA, Arthur lived a life rich with purpose, passion, and love.
A proud Veteran of the United States Navy and the Marine Corps, Arthur exhibited the values of service and dedication. He carried these principles into his career as an attorney, where he worked tirelessly for many years, leaving a positive impact on all who had the privilege to work alongside him. His academic journey began at the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned his BA degree, and continued at Columbia School of Law, where he completed his Juris Doctorate. These accomplishments laid the foundation for a career characterized by integrity and wisdom.
Beyond his professional life, Arthur was a man of many interests. He was an avid reader, often found lost in the pages of classic novels, with a particular fondness for the Greek and Roman Classics. His intellectual curiosity was complemented by a love for the outdoors, especially playing golf, where he found both solace and camaraderie. He was a connoisseur of all things Macintosh and Apple, long before iPhones were cool or even existed. Arthur’s passion for cooking and baking was well known among his family and friends; his culinary creations, ranging from delectable dishes to sweet treats, were always welcomed at gatherings, creating memories around the dining table. The family will always remember fondly the Christmas Eggo Waffle Drop and the Great Madagascar Vanilla shortage of 2001.
A devoted dog lover, he found great joy and companionship in his furry friends, often including them in his daily life and adventures.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Maguire, who stood by him through all of life’s seasons. He was a proud father to his son, Andrew Vossberg and his partner Melissa Lee of Breckenridge, CO, and his daughter, Caitlin Vossberg of Philadelphia, PA. The treasured bond he shared with his grandson, Ryan O'Neill of Philadelphia, PA, brought him immense joy. Arthur also leaves behind his loving sister-in-law Mimi Maguire, nephew Matt Byleckie and niece Christy Spilsted, all of California; sister Theresa Vossberg and cherished niece Charmaine Willour of Missouri. He shared many wonderful memories with cousins, extended family, and good friends.
The family would like to thank all of those who gave so selflessly of their time and provided Arthur loving kindness during his final years, including the staff at Bayada (Dominique, Nikki, and Elijah), and Compassus Hospice. The family extends great gratitude to the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Philadelphia and all of their extraordinary staff.
Arthur was predeceased by his father, Lewis Vossberg, and mother Margaret Vossberg, who nurtured his spirit and encouraged his pursuits throughout his life.
As we remember Arthur E. Vossberg, III, we celebrate the remarkable legacy he leaves behind—a life filled with love, knowledge, and kindness. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.
