Andrew Joseph Vaccarella, Jr., born December 11, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully in Malvern, Pennsylvania, on April 10, 2026, surrounded by love, with the Masters playing in the background. He was 79 years old.
Andy, as he was known to friends and loved ones, lived in Morrisville, PA, for 40 years before moving to Malvern 14 years ago. Over the years, he stayed connected to his family, his community, and circle of friends who cared for him deeply.
An avid golfer, he found real joy being out on the green. He enjoyed cooking and working with his hands, demonstrating a practical creativity that touched many aspects of his life. He also enjoyed playing pinochle and was a devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan, a passion he shared with family and friends.
Mr. Vaccarella spent most of his professional career as an insurance broker. He later took on a variety of consulting jobs, approaching them with his usual independence and ingenuity, always finding his own path, enjoying the people he met, and making an impression along the way.
Andrew was proud to have served his country during the Vietnam War as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, which earned him the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He carried his service throughout his life with quiet pride.
He was a longtime parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Morrisville and a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. His faith and connection to that community were an important part of his life.
Andrew is survived by his loving family: his daughters Nancy Kenworthy and her husband Sean, and Lisa Feeney with her husband Brendan; his sister Patricia Leonhard; his brother Leslie Vaccarella and sister-in-law Ellen; and his former spouse Christine Vaccarella. He took great pride in his role as grandfather to five grandchildren—Avery, Addison, Alexa, Max, and Sam. His extended family also includes several nieces and nephews who remember him fondly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Joseph Vaccarella and Doris Haning Vaccarella.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12 Noon at J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services, located at 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA 19067. This will be followed immediately by a memorial service at 12 Noon at the same location. Interment will take place afterward at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940, beginning at 1:30 PM and concluding by 2:00 PM.
The family and community will come together to honor Andrew Joseph Vaccarella, Jr., a man whose life was defined by love, faith, and spirited enthusiasm for the things he held dear. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Andrew’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
