Andrew Thompson LaRue, Jr.

Aug 24, 1949 — Aug 23, 2026

Morrisville, PA

.Andrew "Andy" Thompson LaRue, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in Morrisville, Pennsylvania, on August 23, 2026, just one day shy of his 77th birthday. Born on August 24, 1949, in Trenton, New Jersey, Andy was known throughout his life for his diligence, commitment to his craft, and warm, approachable character.

A lifelong resident of Bucks County, Andy’s early years were spent in the Dolington area where he attended Council Rock High School before moving to Morrisville and graduating from Morrisville High School in 1969. These formative experiences set the foundation for a lifetime marked by hard work, integrity, and involvement in his community.

A self-employed carpenter and excavator, Andy dedicated more than 50 years to the construction industry. His passion and expertise were evident in every project he undertook, whether it was intricate furniture pieces for family, large-scale renovations, or designing and installing landscapes at various homes in Bucks County. His skilled hands and artistic sensibility left a tangible legacy in the community—a legacy still cherished in the homes and hearts of those he touched with his craftsmanship.

Beyond his profession, Andy was a proud member of the Newtown Masonic Lodge #427 F.& A.M. where he fostered camaraderie and upheld traditions that were important to him. He previously attended the Morrisville Presbyterian Church and served the congregation as a deacon. Andy also found joy and connection as a member of the woodcarving club at the Bristol Senior Center, sharing his knowledge and laughter with fellow enthusiasts. His commitment to nurturing young lives was further demonstrated through his active involvement with Boy Scout Troop #24 in Doylestown, when both of his sons were active members.

In addition to his professional and civic engagement, Andy possessed a zest for life and creativity. He was a gifted oil painter and a masterful woodworker, particularly enjoying the challenge and reward of making furniture. Model trains captivated his imagination, providing both relaxation and a canvas for his love of detail. The Jersey shore also held a special place in his heart, where he found respite and joy in its familiar landscapes and thoroughly enjoyed its bountiful seafood selection. Additionally, he relished taking his sons camping and fishing when they were younger.

Andy’s personality was distinguished by his incredible sense of humor. He was well-known for his “groaner” dad jokes, which brought smiles, eyerolls, and laughter to family and friends alike. His quick wit and ability to find levity in everyday moments endeared him to all who knew him.

Andy is survived by his sons, Andrew T. LaRue III and Kyle T. LaRue; his daughters-in-law, Lindsay Klatzkin and Maiti Gallen; his sister, Laura Martin; and his beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew T. LaRue, Sr.; his mother, Lillian Brownlee LaRue; his brother, Herbert LaRue; and his sisters, Jean Novy and Nanette Jacobs.
