You can pay for the entire policy up front ("Single Payment Option") or, depending on your age, the product and the state of issue, you can pay for the policy over a number of years, such as three, five or 10 years.
The payment you made to the funeral home covers the premium(s) required for Homesteaders to issue a policy associated with the prearranged funeral plan. Homesteaders is a pre-need insurance company that provides funeral funding insurance. You may find more information about Homesteaders in the "For Policy Owners" section and "About Homesteaders" section of this Web site.
Homesteaders sends the withdrawal request to the bank for the fifth day of each month, but delays in processing due to holidays, weekends or other special circumstances, may cause the actual withdrawal date to be later than the date requested. If your transaction occurs much later than the date you requested, please contact customer service at 800-477-3633 Monday through Thursday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Central time and Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Central time.
Homesteaders offers an Early Pay-Off option and there are fees involved. Fees are not punitive, however; they are calculated to help to offset the difference in costs associated with issuing shorter-term plans. Please contact your funeral home or the pre-need associate with whom you arranged your advance funeral plan. If you do not have or cannot locate this contact information, please call Homesteaders Customer Service at 800-477-3633. We'll be glad to assist you.
Changes to your funeral plan might require changes to your Homesteaders policy, so you should contact the individual with whom you made your advance funeral plans. Your agent will contact Homesteaders to ensure your wishes are met.
If the insured cannot answer "No" to both health questions on a multiple payment policy and dies before the limited death benefit period expires, the funeral will not be fully funded. Depending on the payment plan elected, only a portion of the face amount is available until the limited death benefit period is reached. The funeral agreement states that, in these cases, the family is obliged to pay the difference.

Despite the impact of the current coronavirus crisis and the profound disruption it has caused to our daily lives, please know that our Funeral Home remains committed to helping families, relatives and friends say farewell to their loved ones as meaningfully as possible. To that end, this facility has taken the following steps to balance the needs of mourners and guests with the recommended precautions communicated to us by the CDC and the National Funeral Directors Association:
We routinely perform environmental cleaning/sanitizing throughout our facility, such as countertops, doorknobs, bathrooms, tabletops, chairs, pews, and all other frequently touched surfaces.
We provide CDC-recommended hand sanitizers (≥60% alcohol content) throughout this facility if handwashing is not an option.
We provide disposable tissues throughout our facility so guests can cover sneezes and coughs, as well as a greater number of trash receptacles to immediately dispose of used tissues.
We discourage our staff from using other’s work tools, such as phones, desks, offices or other equipment, whenever possible.
We ask staff to follow social-distancing guidelines and to stay home if feeling sick.
Please note: Funerals with public viewings with more that 10 people will be delayed a minimum of two weeks from March 23rd. This may be extended.
If you are requesting direct cremation, we ask that you delay the memorial service until the crisis has passed.
We hope you do not need our services, but we are on call 24/7 and are ready to assist your family in their time of need. If you have an immediate need, please call us now at 215-295-7725
God Bless Us All!
